My new cloud VPS has a firewall in the settings. Not sure how to set this up. Links or advice greatly appreciated.
I am running Cpanel through Cloudlinux (VPS virtualisation is Xen). Would I still need to set up a WAF on the server as well?
PS Something must be working firewall wise as cpanel emailed with 2 hours of me installing it to say a brute force attack had occurred and been blocked, originated from Chin Gave me a link to blacklist. Have been using Plesk up to now but must say I am pretty in awe of Cpanel
You have two options to configure it. I believe your server provider also offers setup firewall from the control panel. You can also install configure CSF on your cPanel. CSF includes LFD (login failure) and will allow you to block unwanted ports and other settings to secure your server.
