    Time for new VPS

    Hi guys.

Its time for me to find a new VPS hosting, so I ask you to give me some direction and suggestions, for which I would be grateful.

    Server Specs Needed:

    4-8 GB RAM
    4-6 CPU cores
Preferably XEN platform but could go with OpenVZ I guess.
    40 GB Disk (preferably SSD)
    cPanel/WHM
    1gbps port speed
    at least 500 GB BW
    Daily bandwidth throughput 8-12 GB
Purpose: hosting (web browser based PHP games)
Fully Managed (this is a MUST)
EU location (this is a MUST)
    Budget: 70-80 EUR per month

    So, fire away

    Thank you in advance...

I think if you do not get a XEN VPS your game will most likely lag on an OpenVZ VPS.

I recommend you get a dedicated server at hetzner with an SSD.

    http://www.hetzner.de/en/hosting/pro...server/ex40ssd

You can get management for example from platinumservermanagement.com and you will be within your budget. You will also have A LOT more power than you would with a VPS.

    Hi Daniel

I am staying away from dedis since the cPanel/WHM pricing for dedis is too expensive IMHO :-(

The games he mentioned is just a php based game. I've seen it ran under shared hosting but it depends on the traffic too.

8-12 gb daily is I guess too much for shared environment.

    Tried it, got kicked out

You can buy a dedicated, install vmware esxi on it and install one single vmware vps and you can use all the power from the server for you and pay VPS cpanel license. We have many clients that do exactly the same, just to save some money on the license.

You can look at lowendbox.com for some deals!

unlimitedwebhosting.co.uk do VPS where you can specify the Cores.

As suggested previously, Hetzner or OVH are also good.

Is that even legal? I mean don't cPanel dudes make any problems?

Yes, cost around 20 for dedicated server cPanel license.

Your budget is fine for your requirements.

Make sure to take a look at digitalocean... Powerful, fast and reliable for a good price.
