URGENT - Where mysql databases and users stored in a cpanel server ?
I have a crash in my server and mysql service doesn't start at all (very methods tested ...)
Now I have moved account's files to another server , but how can I access to mysql databases and users on my server to take a backup and move them to new server?
In other words , I want to know where cpanel stores databases and those usernames for each account?
Do you have any details regarding why the MySQL server doesn't start? Maybe you can paste a few lines from the error log, which is also located at /var/lib/mysql
I doubt that simply copying the mysql folder to the new server will solve your problem.
The cause of problem is that the partition which one mysql files stores in that is full! (VolGroup-lv_root) and I am not able to delete some files from it.
Every command about that partition results in : Device or Resource busy ...
Re: URGENT - Where mysql databases and users stored in a cpanel server ?
Have you tried to boot the server in rescue mode, mount the partition and delete unnecessary files?
Since the drive is apparently full, it's pretty much in read-only mode, so copyig the mysql folder could work after all. Make sure to copy the file /etc/my.cnf as well and stop MySQL on both servers during the transfer.

it's entirely possible that you've got a few things going on here, such as unoptimized databases , log files that can be removed, yup repo cache that can be removed, and a number of other things.
