    Iptables and Limit Connections

    Example:

I have ssh on port 22 which is closed by iptables and allow only my ip adress.

But do i also need to limit connections ? Or that close via iptables is the same ?

If you're already limiting p22/ssh to your IP only, I don't really see a need to configure connection limiting.

If you have already closed the port 22 via the iptables, then there is no need for connection limiting.

Haven't used iptables in a long time, but this should work:
    iptables -A INPUT -p TCP -s YOUR_IP_ADDRESS --dport 22 -j ACCEPT

    What limits do you need?

Here is something that I posted today, which I set-up a few months back, best of both worlds as far as ssh brute force attack if that's what your worried about.

you could also set-up port knocking
