Direct a domain to a mail server.

I have a separate VPS that has ISP Config. I am planning to make this a dedicated mail server.

How can I redirect an existing domain to use this mail server even though it is using a separate web server? Should I just add an MX entry on a domain?

Is there any additional configuration that I should do on my VPS/ISP Config?

    Thanks.

Basically, yes, you need to point the mx record to your mail server and make sure there will be no conflict in your web server.

Modify the existing MX record and point it to the new mail server hostname, setup the priority, usually 0.

Also, under the CName, on the mail section, point to your mail server hostname.
