    * Upgrading the Adaptec 3Gb/s SAS RAID

I am wondering if anyone has gone through an upgrade from an older to a newer model of the Adaptec 3Gb/s SAS RAID card. For example, Adaptec 3805 to 5805. And of course, I'm looking for a drop-in-replacement upgrade approach rather than re-creating arrays and migrating any data back. I've sent a support request to Adaptec and they're saying it is compatible. I'd like to know if anyone has ever done an upgrade such as one like this?

Yea, it should work fine. All the array data is stored on the drives you plan to move so the new card should detect it.

I already did this between 4 ports and 8 ports Adaptec cards.
