OVH please start colocation at your BHS datacenter!
Does it not make sense for OVH to start colocation at their BHS north america(Canadian) datacenter? I mean who are the guys that are running this company? There have sold out for their dedicated servers for several months and they don't understand they can sell colocation to make money from their unused space?
No, they use their custom-designed servers which I believe, is not on the regular size, so their racks won't fit your servers.
With the "massive" space they have in that BHS of a datacenter they can have a colocation section with standard racks
I think they probably think colocation is not a great business because they probably had bad experience or sales with the france one but they are highly mistaken. Who ever manages OVH needs to recheck their business logic very well...north america(canada for that matter) is not france.
With competitive pricing they will see massive sales especially in canada where colocation is like buying gold(with current pricing especially on bandwidth) over there.
Its not gonna happen in their current designs.. its just not an option.
As long as their is space to stand...there can be space to start colocation...its that simple...maybe they have to add/subtract certain things to get things ready but no stopping a plan to start colocation line.
I mean who are the guys that are running this company?
Is this a joke?

I think Octave and his team know a bit more than you about what it takes to be successful in the datacenter business.
Seriously i truly believe OVH is loosing money at this point and not just that...they may be heading for a big dip...if this is how they will continue to run their business...i am very sure they either go down or get acquired.
Colocation is a completely different market, unless you're geared up to deal with junk servers you often get sent, and want looking at at 4AM because the cheap PSU has let the magic smoke escape then it's just not worth doing. If you're geared up to sell servers cheap, you're not geared up for large scale colo. Different markets.
