VPS Hosting setup
For shared hosting the sky is the limit with software.
But what are some recommendations for VPS hosting. I notice KVM but not sure what is ideal, able to setup / manage vps systems easily.
Any input as im having a hard time finding info with the search feature.

Hello,
IMHO you could start just with hosting control panel as cPanel/Plesk depending on your OS - Linux or Windows. It will be enough to manage your VPS server.

If your question is related to setting up a VPS Hosting business and which virtualization you should use then opt in for KVM or Xen.
Both are free and supported by the industry for a long time.Webuzo - Multi user control panel supporting Apache, NGinx, MySQL, MariaDB, Percona, LiteSpeed, Varnish, WordPress, etc.
Virtualizor - VPS Control Panel supporting OpenVZ, Xen, KVM and has 200+ OS Templates
Softaculous - Auto Installer with 400+ scripts for Webuzo, cPanel, DirectAdmin, InterWorx, Plesk, etc.

I would also like to add that SolusVM on KVM seems to allow me to manage resources between nodes much better than a lot of the alternatives.

I've read that OpenVZ is much easier to manage. Its overselling ability also allows you to cram a few extra customers into a server, which increases your profitability.
We're an all-Xen shop here, and it's been great for us and our customers. Need to load a weird filesystem module in the kernel? No problem! Worried about running memory-sensitive applications? No problem! Worried about being able to use every last megabyte of disk space? No problem!
SolusVM and Virtualizor are two good management platforms to look at. Price is very close.▐█▌Fresh Roasted Hosting :: High-performance Harrisburg web hosting since 2012!

For our regular virtual machines we use SolusVM and have for years. It's a quality product.
