We are actively investigating the 5-6 minute networking difficulty a portion of our data center experienced this morning. Please do note though that it was a portion though, not network wide as previously stated in this thread. We will analyze the situation and put measures in place to prevent against future issues such as the same.
To update everyone, there was a large DDOS to a client on our network at 5:40 AM EST which effected some other racks in the vicinity. Our ddos tools detected and mitigated the attack within 5 minutes. Those effected saw everything back to normal by 5:45 AM EST
No one likes downtime, DDOS is something everyone deals with. It was handled within 5 minutes, we will continue to improve on these type of attacks.
