I just moved a customers site from one server to another and I've given the site a new IP. The site seems to come up fine.

The problem is that email doesn't work for the site. The DNS records are still hosted on the 1st server. The MX is:
mx - tabworldonline.com High www.tabworldonline.com
(This is how all my sites MX records are configured, according to Cobalt's HOW-TO's and they all work).

When I try to send a test email, this showed up in the log of the 1st server (which is also the server I use for SMTP):

Nothing shows in the other server's maillog. Help?

Thanks for the offer, however I would really like to learn for myself what the problem is. Maybe is noone else on WHT has any advise & after I have a chance to look over your site (I was blocked from accessing it from work).

Thanks for your help. You can send test emails to test@tabworldonline.com

There doesn't seem to be a problem sending email to that domain from other servers (like from my bellsouth.net account), but when sending from an account on the same server I get:

It bugs me when people REFUSE to post the answer for the benefit of all, instead insisting to use IM programs, PMs, etc.

the most common problem with sites that email dont work is that
the email is not enabled

on Raq 3 servers make sure Web Access by Domain is ticked
on Raq 4s you will need to put the full domain without www as the mail alias.

Hope this is of help

if you get the error message of No such user here

then you can put @www.domain.com as the email alias for the main user and that will act as a catch all box.
This works on all Cobalt Servers

I appreciate the help. Both servers are configured correctly. The target email address does exist.

This problem only occurs when sending the email via my POP3 email client (MS Outlook Express). If I log into telnet and use pine to send the email from admin@realm-net.com to test@tabworldonline.com, it works OK.

I think the portion of the maillog that says "dsn=5.6.0, stat=Data format error" may be significant. Does anyone have any ideas?

the problem seem to me like a dns issue then. if it works ok on the local server then it means that its ok with the email config but it could be the out side dns issue.

Questions

(1) do you have a Firewall
(2) is the dns on the local server
(3) is it configered ok
(4) is the default gateway set ok
