Is it possible for me to cancel without paying for next month?
Hi guys, I am looking to cancel my server at Hetzner and moving to a host that provides DDoS protection.
I knew my invoice for next months use of server was due on 15th (today) so I bought new server today and began transfer, I have just finished and went to cancel the server but it is telling me earliest cancellation is 6th of next month. Does this mean I must pay the invoice that will be emailed to me later today? (It will be around 148euros) or can I cancel my stuff and ignore the invoice so they will 'disable' me?0

You should be able to find your answer here: http://www.hetzner.de/en/hosting/legal/agb

My understanding is that once the bill is generated, then you have to pay it. You could have cancelled the server yesterday and requested a cancellation date of 16th or 17th October and Hetzner would have billed you on a pro-rated basis. Also, please note that if the earliest cancellation date is 6th Nov, it means that the current invoice is for 7th Oct to 6th Nov. You have already used the server from 7th to 15th Oct, so you need to pay 'extra' only for 3 weeks.
I will recommend that you pay the invoice since it is the right thing to do. Hetzner has clear policies and officially they need a 30 day notice of cancellation. In reality, they are letting you cancel in just 3 weeks.
Also, you should probably see this thread http://www.webhostingtalk.com/showthread.php?t=13122210

I do not think so as they will have all their terms and conditions mentioned, but you can just close the account without paying and see what is happening.

Most providers require a minimum cancellation period before the next renewal date so looks like you have to pay that invoice.
