    Any gamblers here?

Years ago i was heavy into poker. Made a decent living off NL poker online. Had to switch to something more stable and guaranteed when situations came up in life. Been getting back into it lately the past few months. Offline though in a casino.

What's you game? Online or offline?

@ $400 a year it doesn't look like he is making a living off of it.

For some people it is the best way. It may not be the best way for you to make a living, but you are not everyone.

For anyone looking to learn, here's a pretty good free resource. A lot of courses to learn http://www.cardplayerpokerschool.com/

They have text lessons and some videos.

This one is paid. I have not checked it out http://www.pokeronlineschool.com/

I've been hooked to online poker for a while, playing through Full Tilt, but found my passion elsewhere - sports betting.

Been playing for 3 years now, along with a couple of friends, and have to say, we've made a pretty good side income since then, raking around 20k in the process. Mostly football betting (the football, some people strangely refer as to soccer ), but we've played in practically anything of interest - basketball, volleyball, hockey, even darts and curling

Anyways, its a nice thing for me, as sports trading works pretty much like the stock market and I was able to implement my economics knowledge into it

Sit and Go - quick poker tournament. Limited number of buy-ins. You may buy-in for $50. Everyone gets 1k chips and you play until somebody has them all. Top 3 split the buy-ins

Cash - this is what I normally play. When you bet $50 into the pot, that's actually $50. All money bet is actual money. Not a buy in for chips

Tournament - look at it like a very large sit ad go. Could have thousands of people involved

I go to small free roll Texas Hold'em tournaments every month or so. Free to get in and possibly win $100 or $125. Good easy fun and great way to meet people. Lots of smoke though.

As long as you are playing against the casino, the numbers are against you. You will always lose in the long run. The only game worth playing and actually be making some profit out of, is Texas HoldEm poker. You have bluff, you have skill and you are playing against other players, not the casino. There are countless proves of that.

However, I a not good at it, tried couple of times, so I only gamble fake money every now and then.
