I have one of my servers with soladrive from almost 1 year and was happy with them but a few days ago, I received few abuse complaints that were resolved in a timely manner.
Later on they kept saying that I have abuse complaints but never forwarded to me. I always followed what they said but 2 days ago, I was informed that IP has been null routed and I was much disappointed that I have not been forwarded the complaints and without any proof, my server has been null routed.
I requested them to un null the IP so that I can check the abusive site and resolve the issue but their support continuously escalating the ticket to other department but the issue has not yet been solved after 40 hours and server is still down and now they are asking me to upgrade to Dedicated Server. I will think to move away or to upgrade but having server down, what can I think!!!!
I sent PM's at WHT and emails directly to John for help but he doesn't bother to reply me. John@ Can you get me out of this dark?

I'm sorry you are disappointed with us, but our hands are clean here. For the past 1.5 months we have been getting an increasingly large amount of abuse complaints against your VPS. Recently 2-3 per a day. We never forwarded them to you because we always took care of the abusers for you, hence we are a managed provider. We warned you multiple times (understatement) to scan your server and clean it up since your clients were obviously abusing our AUP. Unfortunately it came down to the DC null routing your IP, but that's what happens when you host clients who doing illegal things and you dont listen to our recommendations. Also we never asked you to upgrade to a server, feel free forward a screenshot of that to us. Honestly we liked working with you quite a bit but we can only do so much when you dont listen to us. You are welcome to post our transcripts here if you want, but we did everything we could to help you. DC wants to charge us $150 for the next time it happens, which is why we had to ask you to leave. I am sure you would do the same if you were in our position. We wish you all the best with your next provider and we sure do hope they are as lenient as we were.
It is highly important to keep a clean network and avoid abusive activities. From John's post, it appears that you were notified multiple times about the issue since it was popping up every other day and was evidently linked to few abusive customers that you were hosting. You may work out with John to see if it is the case and if so, you'll need to remove abusive clients from your account before it is re-activated. It is important to understand/implement this as it is pretty much standard procedure with all professional hosts to disable the account for excessive abuse. Hence, it won't help if you jump to another host and continue with same activity.
In addition, you will need to assure them of no such activity to happen in future and if so, you'll be accepting the charge that SolaDrive's DC is going to slap them.
Good luck in sorting this out!

Old thread. For what its worth, if youre a VPS provider you really should block all potentially abused ports by DEFAULT, such as port 25, etc. This way fraud companies buying cheapo $5 VPS dont blast your network, or compromised servers wont either. If a company really wants to send mail you can tell them to use port 551, or something like that. Most customers do not mail so they can easily apply for that permission. There are other ports you can block by default and open them by request, to avoid having so many abuse complaints.
