Thumbs up for Observium it is truly a great open source tool and it just keeps getting better on each release.

PRTG is very good for Network devices and Windows vps/servers. Linux support is a bit lacking.

    Hi,

Im also looking to find a single monitoring software that allows me to check and have real time status and information about my servers.

At the moment im also using Nagios + Cacti, but im looking to find just 1 solution that does all the job. Im tired of having multiple monitoring software runnings.

Observium looks good. Does anyone can tell me what Observius lacks vs Nagios and Cacti?

Any other suggestion rather than Observium? I have heard also good things about Icinga: www.icinga.org and also Ninja: http://www.op5.org/community/plugin-...projects/ninja

So Observium vs Icinga vs Ninja vs others, what do you think is the better and most complete all in one solution?

    Thanks

Check out The Dude, I've been using it for a couple years at some fairly large networks.

PRTG is gteat. I dont know why its so underrated. It's an active project with monthly updating, always adding features. I find the probe is a bit tacky as WMI does not really scale up very well. You really need to crunch your numbers to make sure you are within the recommended WMI requests. No linux agent is a bit of a pain.

We are also using Labtech but I can tell you right away, its a huge investment so it may be outside of your scope.

Services can be restarted automatically and instantly without the need to log into the server.

I don't have experience with the current software which you share. I suggest you try 'Net Monitoring' its a great software and you can get the snapshots during the monitoring PC and put the software on recording as well. If you are busy just put it on recording and you can watch when you come

    Check zabbix,it`s realy good.

Before zabbix i`m tryed all most popular monitoring systems such as nagios, cacti, mrtg including premium versions like pigdom,bjik,cloudstats..

Zabbix have all what you need and have good documentation..Observium looks good bud i haved some litle problems in setup and with her documentation.
