Personal opinion, I would be wary of OVH. Their model never seemed quite sustainable and they seem to have come to that realization based off the letter from their CEO that was recently translated and posted in these forums.

SecuredServers has a really solid Phoenix location, which should also have reasonable connectivity from there to the Philippines.

    Thank you all..

If low ping there is a possibility the speed is good compare to higher ping?

    I only ping SS 200 - 250 WHILE this OVH 300 - 320

You cannot compare these two. Completely different business models & target markets.

Personally think for you SS will work better in terms of connectivity.

I use both, but SecuredServers get's my vote. They have a 24/7 support team that speaks fluent english. Don't get me wrong, I even use OVH but in my 2 years with them I've only sent in one support ticket. Which by my expectations wasn't the best response or english.. but whatever... with those low prices you cannot have high expectations.

    Run from OVH, really.

I don't bother sending in tickets... as they either take forever to reply or their ultimate solution is rebooting the server. I only use that server as a test server it goes down from time to time but for $10/Mo I could care less.. now if for instance I was running an operation on that server then yeah... I would care.

Now you show how good they are.

I don't like to support companies that don't care to their customers.

Their hardware isn't the best, but it works.

The hardware SLA is poor, but also works in 2~3 hours.

Support is not existing, but everyone knows that.

"Oh, but I have my server there and I can manage it myself, it has KVM and etc, so it is good".

I don't like this type of opinion, OVH claims to be a leader in the market, and as a leader, as a 'reference' they want to be, they must provide a very good customer service, they must provide properly support, they need to understand people issues and work together them to improve everything.

This is not a money machine, where you put a server in a rack and voila, start earning from it.

Who supports this type of business, all I have to say is 'Good luck, you get what you pay.'

Quadranet is good, but they are more expensive than the two providers OP mentioned I believe.

They have vps "low latency" servers in Germany, Italy and USA too. I don't know if they own the hardware though. But the physical servers are in those countries.

    @OP

Checkout also Singapore, I've seen great deals from there.

We have a good opinion of both providers. I actually called up OVH and asked them about things people say on WHT and other forums. The tech said, "Often that's because people are expecting a lot of support from us, and that's not what we offer. Really what we offer is a box, cooling, power, and hardware support. Not software support."

That was perfect for us because that's what we wanted - a dedicated server, and for the provider only to worry about hardware, power, and cooling. For $59/mth, we feel we're getting very good value, and everything has been terrific thus far.

We've also used Secured Servers, and again didn't have any trouble. If you need more help, this is your better bet, for sure. If you just want someone to host the box and let you do your thing, there's nothing wrong with OVH. We use their data centre in Montreal.

I'd only use OVH for hobby only, they had a few network congestion issues a few days ago due to the ddos they have been receiving recently
