Need help with setting up additional IP's on oracle virtualbox

    Hello,

    I have a dedicated server running Ubuntu 12.04 with XEON L5420, 16 GB RAM, with 5 IP's from x.x.x.185 to x.x.x.189.

I wish to run 5 virtual machines having windows, each with one of the above IP's, I installed oracle virtualbox in order to do so. I can create virtual machines but I am having problem with assigning these IP's.

by default Internet is working fine but every virtual machine have the same IP x.x.x.185

I asked my host provider about this and they sent me some details:
    x.x.x.x gateway
    x.x.x.x broadcast
    x.x.x.x netmask
    x.x.x.x and x.x.x.x DNS resolvers.

but when I assign these IP's here(on screenshot) my internet stops working which means I am doing something wrong.

guys any head's up where I should change these settings??

Move Network adapter mode to bridge and setup your ips in virtual machines

It's true, If your data center prefer to set mac in your virtual machine you must change mac too

only 2 of the IP's are running good with the virtualbox VM's:
1.) x.x.x.186 which is the main IP of my server
    2.) x.x.x.187 next one.

rest two (x.x.x.188, x.x.x.189) are not working. I followed the same steps. any hint guys??

Maybe because .188 and .189 are your gateway and broadcast ips.

these are my gateway and broadcast:
    x.x.x.185 gateway
    x.x.x.191 broadcast
    x.x.x.x netmask
    x.x.x.x and x.x.x.x DNS resolvers.

    IP's with problem are x.x.x.188, x.x.x.189

It should be working fine if your not hitting your gate/broad

II would assume you changed the ip on the one VM that works to those ips and it was failing to ping? If not try to change it and try to ping your gateway. If that does not work it might be best to contact the support of whomever your resting from.

Why you do not try other Virtualization like KVM or Xen ?

I think problem is not with the IP or gateway as I am able to run other IP's after changing them in my LAN.
all of the IP's from x.x.x.186 to x.x.x.189 are running good but only 2 of them run simultaneously in Virtualbox. If I run 3-4 VM's in Parallel then only 2 of them receive internet packets and rest 2 are stay offline.

I tried with Vmware player but my internet is only working with NAT, it doesnt work when I switch to Bridge and assign any IP with other things. so Vmware 10 and Vmware player is pretty useless for now.

Doesn't know anything about KVM or XEN but will follow a tutorial tonight.
does anybody had this kind of problem before??

if you might know a hint or solution then you are always welcome...
