Which dedicated server for this traffic?

    I start this theme - http://www.webhostingtalk.com/showthread.php?p=8854308
But now i know the best way is dedicated server.

On my website i have sometimes 30 visitors per sec and in this time my hosting is weak for this traffic and load more then 30 sec.!

I am from middle europe, traffic is from USA, germany, australia, UK.

when my hosting is down - http://d.pr/i/4BTT
    if i have big traffic - http://d.pr/i/LfLw

Best price i find have - http://www.hetzner.de/en/ - but servers only in Germany, is this problem for USA traffic?

That depends on their connectivity and how many hops your visitors will have to go through.
I am thinking that a server in the UK might be better for USA traffic, as most of the major trans atlantic cables towards Europe end on the islands west coast.

Best price doesn't mean best chose.

If website goes over mysql data base, I recommend to look to ssd hard drives.

Connectivity? Depends on your needs. How many traffic do you use monthly?

Germany is just as good as london, while some traffic may indeed go across the UK first the latency between there and the mainland is small, further are the chances the hosting provider on the mainland is directly connected to the main internet exchanges of Frankfurt and Amsterdam quite big, on it self that would be a huge plus for all your local (european traffic).

If you are really worrying about speed between continents you should consider to place part of your sites content on a CDN which always provides as much as possible local access for your content.

Personally i am not to fond of hetzner but that is more because of the to strict IP assignment policies, but if that is not an issue for you they seem to be having good connectivity.

They by default provide just 1 IP per server; getting more was (and likely is still) a pain the ass.

If you do not need more as 1 IP; they may be suiting your needs.

It seems to me you are not just looking for a dedicated server but actually for a fully managed server ?

You can usually run multiple websites on 1 IP without issue, but some controlpanels like cpanel would want 2 IP's per server for DNS services on the machine.

SSL can be another reason why you may need multiple IP's on your server.

Can you tell us a bit more about your dedicated server needs ? besides the amount of connections, how much bandwidth, diskspace and what kind of services you search ?

If you aren’t familiar with server management (which from the looks of it, you aren’t), then it is best to go for managed server with a good dedicated host.

Since you are getting traffic from across the world, just about any good location would be alright, I for one would recommend US.

In US, have a look at Wiredtree and Knownhost, both offer good managed servers, while Wiredtree has an edge because they also offer Litespeed and MariaDB, which can come in real handy in case of a busy PHP+MYSQL website.

Just for the record, we offer Litespeed licenses, support said licenses and installs, as well as offer MariaDB which is free.

If your maximum traffic is from USA, you are better off with a server in US. Do you have a specific budget in mind that we can use to refer you some US providers?

Honestly, I would recommend hosting in either London or the NYC (and surrounding area), since your customers are in both the US and EU.

SSD drives are great, but you might also want to consider splitting up the workload between two servers and a CDN server. Put all of your Apache and DNS1 on one server, MySQL, DNS2 and email on the other server and use a CDN to serve up files that aren't database driven (Images, javascript, CSS files, static HTML files, etc).

And yes, go for SSD drives on the MySQL server, but make SURE you have that in a RAID10 configuration (or any system running SSD).

If you're only running one SSD drive and that drive crashes, the data is gone, forever.

My bad. When I was with you guys few years ago, you didn’t support Litespeed and I thought same was the case even now.
