The Heisenberg Uncertainty Princple.
Why? I don't know.
Is that irony, or what?
And yes, this is a serious suggestion.

hmm.. about something to do with Sir Isaac Newton. He had to do something with physics.... I'm sure of it.
Maybe not, I'm horrible at anything dealing with Math.

Renewable Energy from the Sun : Everybody talks about it but does little to implement it. I am sure it will be a hot topic.

the heisenburg principle is already taken, yes it is a pretty hard topic still, the renewable energy sounds pretty good, any other suggestions?
does anyone know what the de broglies hypothesis is about? or
how about anitmatter?

creating electricity and power from non conventional resources like sun, h20, hydrogen etc
creating alternative energy for driving cars and buses
so mankind can reduce its dependency over oil..
and wars like these can be prevented !

The De Broglie's Hypotheisis basically states that an electron can be both a particle and a wave (or length of a wave). Great website about it at:
http://www.davis-inc.com/physics/wavegrph.html
Anti-matter would be FAR more interesting a subject, and CERN is the best resource for it. It's very cool, lot's of topics, examples, tests etc:

Try some product re-development.
India has done extensive research and development on ox drawn carts which are commonly used by poor rural farmers. From an old design consisting of rigid wooden wheels and heavy cart frames now it has evolved into air filled rubber wheels with shock absorber suspensions and frames built with light and strong mild steel tubes. Some have even incorporated a tipper like load bucket so that material can be unloaded easily without having to unstrap the ox.
Another great product is the transistor radio with an hand-windup dynamo charger to power it. Once the spring is wound up the radio plays for about 30 minutes continously without any other power. Again you can wind it up to play for another 30 minutes. It was invented by some UK guy for the villagers of Africa who dont have power lines and cannot afford to buy battery cells to play the transistors daily.
This one really impressed me the most: An electrical pressing iron which is designed in such a way that it always stands upright when you lift off your hands. Thus it can never accidently burn the cloth or the ironing board if you leave it on accidently. A very simple concept but none had thought of it.

Wave/Particle duality is a good topic to choose, however have you considered perhaps writing on the application of the physics concepts you've been taught to practical real life solutions? especially in industry?

Definately... I agree with Fazel and comphosting - do a paper/essay whatever on Schrodinger's Cat, and at what stage wave functions stop being wave functions and begin being reality (observed). Top stuff. I was actually talking to my gf about it yesterday but I think I broke her.

try "nuclear physics"
I am sure in days to come, every government will want you as everyone seems to go after..
also, when the oil is all burnt up and all natural resources used, nuclear energy might be the only left to power huge cities.. as solar energy seems only focused on automobiles and small villages, and not big cities.
.. just a thought..

Nuclear Fission and Hydrogen Fuel
Speaks for itself allready mentioned how to control the rate of energy release so that it can sustain itself essentially producing more energy then initially exists
The Buckey Ball : Too Chemistry Perhaps
A molecular shape in the form of a soccer ball has some interesting molecular applications esp in terms of friction I beleive its a Carbonn24 molecule
SuperConductors and SuperComputing
Near zero resistance allowing for magnetic monorails, MRI scans and more powerful computers
Nanobots and Micromachines
Machines the size of a molecule ALA "Inner Space"
Blackholes
Warped Time, Warped Space, Worm Holes

You mean Buckminsterfullerene? It's Carbon60 I think?
