Running Linux machine in windows web edition
I have a windows server 2012 web edition . You know that this edition doesn't have hyperv role . But I like to create a linux machine in this server.
Please advise .
I am not sure if it is the best virtualization solution for windows server 2012, but you can try using VirtualBox (https://www.virtualbox.org) to setup Linux VPS on your Windows server.

+1 for VirtualBox. It's incredibly simply to start deploying virtual environments very quickly. A few point and clicks.
A nice thing about VirtualBox is it does not require VT support on Intel chips for virtualization. I use it on older machines when needing to use another temporary OS quickly.
It would appear VMWare Player requires virtualization support in the CPU: http://www.vmware.com/pdf/vmware_player40.pdf
That being said, if you're running on newer hardware, you likely already have hardware virtualization enabled or easily enabled in your BIOS.
+1 for Virtual Box as well.
Not requiring VT support is what makes it a winner. As stated above.
