RAQ550 cpu is getting very hot !!

Hi all,

the cpu of my raq is getting very hot 49 degrees , when the Ambient Temperature is 31 degrees.

Is there something wrong ?
there are 30 sites on it now, and sometimes I can't reboot via GUI or ssh or webmin, bacause everything seems to be down

I have to let it reboot once a day.

can someone help ?

PS:
1:33pm up 14:50, 1 user, load average: 0.02, 0.04, 0.00
135 processes: 134 sleeping, 1 running, 0 zombie, 0 stopped
CPU states: 0.1% user, 1.1% system, 0.0% nice, 98.6% idle
Mem: 513948K av, 480076K used, 33872K free, 0K shrd, 0K buff
Swap: 524536K av, 0K used, 524536K free 239168K cached

so here is nothing wrong i guess

My CPU temp seems to be running about the same temperature. It goes up to 52 degrees C. But it hasn't been un-reliable, yet.

I know the fan is functioning, I was upgraded the memory in it and checked it just incase.

Maybe we need some more airflow than what comes stock.

Memory

I have 786MB in mine.

I just upgraded it, that didn't have anything to do with the temperature. Its still rock solid, hasn't crashed once yet. Knock on wood!

My 1.26 GHz, 1 GB RAM 550 is similar, running at:

ambient: 33 deg C/91 deg F
CPU: 48 deg C/118 deg F

Systems says "normal." No probs with the appliance itself.

Interesting, the 550 doesn't even feel overly warm to the touch.

Is that supposed to be hot? That's what my PC normally runs at, but I believe CPU's are supposed to be able to operate above that. It seems like overheat is normally above 60 degrees celcius. Maybe you have some other issues going on.

I have seen systems running 1.2GhZ Duron processors running as hot as 70 deg C without loss of performance. This was in a normal room with no airflow.

Is your Raq in an air conditioned centre?

Well normally I wouldn't think anything of it. Every once in a while I get a email from active monitor that a device is running to hot, and then ten seconds later I get another e-mail stating operating temperatures are normal.

Just wierd. Reliablity hasn't been a problem at all. Machine runs fine.
