Anybody here co-located at Q9 Networks?

Q9 Networks has a data center in Toronto engineered for 100% availability... They offer only co-location services (with half rack minimum) and no dedicated servers as far as I can tell.

Is anyone here using Q9 Networks as a provider? How are their prices?

I have never heard about them, however ... they look very impressive. They seem to operate their own NOC, and for an NOC located in Canada, their connectivity is very descent too....

Pinging from my server at Site5 (Nac.net) to q9.com ...
Quote:
--- q9.com ping statistics ---
20 packets transmitted, 20 packets received, 0% packet loss
round-trip min/avg/max/mdev = 15.940/16.393/17.122/0.360 ms
16 ms ping time! very darn fast (well, from my server to their network, it's only about 1000 miles, but still ... it's pretty darn fast) ....

traceroute gives:
Quote:
traceroute to q9.com (216.220.36.254), 30 hops max, 38 byte packets
1 64-21-150-1.site5.com (64.21.150.1) 0.300 ms 0.269 ms 0.209 ms

Only 11 hops the last 5 of which are their own private lines .... very interesting ....

Have you contacted them and ask about their prices? Seem to be a good network .... let us know if you know anything more about them ...

cheers,

And a 239 ms ping time here in the UK which is pretty damn impressive also. I've never heard of them before though, either.

I went to their site, but I don't see any colocation plan & pricing.

Any clue?

I haven't contacted them about pricing because their services are well above what I need right now. I know that they're relatively pricey, though. A quote from http://www.profitguide.com/inc/print_article.asp?ID=360 :
Quote:
With his experience on both sides of the venture-capital equation, Arafat has seen many new businesses rise (and fall). He's distilled his experience into these rules:

Compete on features, not price. "Big companies have big pockets," says Arafat [CEO of Q9 Networks]. "You don't. Provide the best service. Get your customer to say, 'I don't care what the price is — I've got to have that'." Q9's services, he says, are expensive.

(snip)
