Figured out this SAGA from h*##..... but not sure which direction to take it
to...

.. just thought I would tell you a lovely lil thing I just found out. On my
quest for the webhost I signed up for a service from Vikmar.com
Signed up on April 3rd 2000. The account was to be set up within
0-2 days... They set up my account April 12 2000 (9 days later) but it didnt
work.. so they then wrote me an email requesting permission to charge my
credit card.. I told them NO there is no way you are getting my permission
forget it.. cancell my account you didnt set up right in the first place..
WELL.........being that was the 3rd place that didnt set things up right..
figured it was par for the course....

HERE is the twist.... they took my credit card number.... and opened a
PAYPAL account with their domain and their name with my credit card.. and
charge me the amount it would of been if I had agreed to stay with them.
(185.30) SO we found this out when Paypal sent mail to confirm the
address... called them and found out what was going on reported it to fraud..
and cancelled our cc... and waiting to hear back from ANYONE about this...

SO obviously VIKMAR is in trouble.. from whom I dont know they are located
out of my state.. its in Michigan... and we have yet to hear back from the cc
company who is pretty good about most other things...and PAYPAL....... so the
saga continues... we cant do anything til we hear back from someone... I know
the bbb.com and have filed a complaint there...... but who else I dont know?...
any ideas????

This is a plot to keep me off the web I just know it...but this is the second one to rip my money off.. hostingplans.com still hasnt paid me back...

It sounds like you may have grounds to file a compaint with the Michigan State Attorney's office for internet fraud. They have a computer crimes division and their home page is at http://www.ag.state.mi.us
Even if they never prosecute over it, you may get a faster refund if the S.A. office contacts the involved parties :-)

Glad to help, Silly! I don't know of any list of States Attorney's, but you can go to the individual state home page and look around from there. State government homepages are at www.state.??.us ??=two letter state abbreviation. For instance, www.state.mi.us is where I started looking for yours. Please remember though, in fairness you should always attempt to work out problems directly with a company before filing a complaint :-)
