quick question

im running website on apache and want to make it where when you type in website address that the filenames dont show in URL.

for example

if i type in www.cnn.com, when the page comes up the URL shows
www.cnn.com/ instead of www.cnn.com/index.html

and weather page shows www.cnn.com/weather/ instead of www.cnn.com/weather/index.html

i tried changing the DocumentRoot in my httpd.conf file but doesnt seem to work.

I know this isnt hard. btw, my index file is 3 folders down from root.
