ThePlanet - Any good for Central Gaming?

Hi,
Just wondering if ThePlanet is any good for hosting games, so that Central users would ping nicely to?

Thanks

I've never noticed that... most likely only happens if you have a computer with low specs.

No the game engine always adds overhead thus your icmp ping will always be lower than the actual in-game ping. A 10-20ms or sometimes much more (such as early instances of UT2k3) increase over the icmp ping is normal regardless of computer speed.

MrDredd.

ASE IS essentially a DOS ping.

ASE != ingame ping.

!= does not equal.

Thank you.

I'm in KS, and i used to ping like 30-40 to my server located at ThePlanet, but then ATT made some changes, and now i'm lucky to be pinging under 100 to Theplanet.

I'm not very happy about that..... More than doubled my ping.

yeah, if I go in on ATT or QWEST from Palm Beach, FL, my ping averages 80-90, but recently I've been going in on MFN, and I get a beautiful 50-60
