Promote your hosting company

I'm running a small webhosting company and need to get more visitors to my site. Do you know of any good host databases and search engines where hosters can add their sites?

There are ENDLESS threads on this topic, by doing a search for the things you just asked for, you can find lists of dozens if not hundreds of places to advertise or list your company.

Here includes some "non-secret" methods to get traffic.

1) Submit as much as possible to all hosting listing websites. Best is to write a redirect scripts to record where the traffic comes from, and pay your dollars to those whom you think it's qualified or brings you to most potential audient.

2) Search Engines. It does bring you an incredibly of traffic every month if you have a high rank for those popular keywords; such as "web hosting" and "hosting" .. Hmn or "sex hosting"

3) Local advertising around your nrighborhood. Spread out some words about your company to your friends, family, and relatives. You will probably be surprising with those people who stuck-in-the-mud would like their web site publish on the web and pay you well for a decent web layout.

4) SPAM at WHT

Every bit of information in the signatures is actually a form of SPAM. Why? Cause nobody has asked for that info! So cyberservers is quite right about his 4th method of promotion IMO.

There are a few businesses in this thread alone advertising their services for FREE in their signatures. What do you think this is?

In which case he could have defined his method a little better.

Rather than just saying "SPAM at WHT". A lot of people would take that literally

Here's a nice start that was posted by PhilG in a different thread about something else.

There are some longer lists on the forum here somewhere.
