About Nocster

12-03; 19:00 I ordered the server at Nocster.
12-03; 22:00 I received my billing account info. Credit card has been charged
13-03; 15:00 I have sent a message asking 'how long it takes'. No reply.
14-03; 10:30 I have sent it again.
14-03; 10:40 I received a message from Benji A:
Quote:
What is your name and the server/domain name you placed the order under?
I sent it immediately. No reply. Nothing.
14-03; 14:00 I sent several messages with 'Where is my server?' in subject. No reply.
14-03; 17:00 I received a message from Pete R.
Quote:
Your server is up and pingable, you just didn't receive the welcome letter yet. Expect that shortly. If you don't get it by 7pm, contact benji@burst.net
14-03; 19:00 I sending a message to benji@burst.net. No reply.
15-03; 01:20 Receiving a message from Sean R.
Quote:
You should be receiving the welcome letter any time now.
In the meantime here is IP and password:

xx.xx.xx.xx
xxxxxxxxxx
15-03; 12:00 I have sent a message again. No reply...

Just a warning.
Stay away from that managed services and from their 24/7 support and from their instant (6 hours max.) setup
I'm still have no access to my server and no way to contact them. Their icq is disconnected too.
Never met such support....

I agree with SolidJoe. So far I am okie with BurstNET, only thing is probably Nocster/BurstNET are on the down side now. Couples of flooding around, not only them, check out other DCs too. Probably they need some time to orientate themselve bad to services esp. after their recent sales.

Just keep our fingers crossed, probably everything will be as good as before.

And what I need to understand with
Quote:

Anytime is tomorrow, next month? When?
I had read a post about Valentine's day sales. Delays are strange anyway, but it was a promotion.
Why not to say: we are very busy now, new orders will be available on ../03, or tell it in a message. Why I need to wait for something checking the mail every hour?
Any explaining?
At least you must to move the billing date from 12 to 15 (or when I get access to it).

I had the same problem like you with them, the setup took alot of time but i got the welcome email, but the root psw wasn't ok...

Just call them and yall on them... or AIM them, but their AIM never respond and when they respond the guy there can't help :/

i ALWAYS stand up for Nocster but i have to say their support are on the down site.

For example, I order another Dual Xeon, Sean said max out 7 days. Took them almost a month to deliver. I still ok with it since they said they got the wrong mobo. My clients pissed at me. They call me EVERY single day ask where is the server.

So finally I got it 2 days ago. The 1st day, can't use it since got invalid Cpanel license. Took them one day to fix it.

Then after Cpanel issue resolve, another one raise up. After set it all up, client call in again said they can't move sites in or can't upload or download anything. Sent out support ticket for more than 24 hours to ask them check on the NIC, nothing come back. NO ONE at burst/nocster EVEN look at the ticket or do anything about it. Thist morning call in, Paul pick up. He said ok, let me take a look. 4 hours went by. Nothing happen. Call in again, Paul pick up again and said..."humm.. what is the ip again"

It took them only 5 mins to replace the NIC and more than 24 hours to wondering around? Common guys.

One of their tech guys has confessed in another thread that Nocster uses cheap hardware. I wonder if they wait and purchase the server with the initial money they collect from the customer (setup fee + first monthly = server cost)... That may explain why it takes 3 days to fulfil an order.

From http://www.nocster.com/faq.shtml:
Quote:
BurstNET™ strives for a setup time of no more than 6 hours per order. If an order is placed during normal business day hours, orders may be processed in only a few minutes. If an order is placed in the middle of a night, when the least amount of staff is on-site, orders may take slightly longer to process. All NOCSTER dedicated servers are pre-built, and pre-installed, before listed for sale on the NOCSTER website, in order to speed up the time-to-delivery process. If you ordered a NOCSTER reseller account or dedicated server, you will have the ability to instantly setup accounts by yourself, after the initial setup by BurstNET™.
