[UK] Needing Linux Techy

Hi everyone, we are looking into getting a Linux admin in the UK. The admin will need to have some good experience, and be available to work within the hours:

Monday – Friday: 9am – 5pm
Weekends: To be decided

We would like to be able to pay the admin hourly rates that he works, for instance if he works only 5 hours on the Monday, yet has to do no work for the rest of the week, we will pay him for that week.

Job Description

- Assist clients with Linux tech support, for instance help with certain Linux duties, if they have a problem, but want to fix it them selves, you will tell them what to do.
- Hands on tech support, actually fixing problems on remote servers for the clients if they have “screwed” up somewhere down the line of managing there own servers.

Managing service

We will be offering a managed solution on servers this is what you will do:
- Full time Linux admin, for clients that want managed services (this will be paid to your own personal rates a month)

You will work from home

The paying rate will depend on very much what you would like, and to come up with some kind of agreement.

We would like someone that is dedicated to computers and spends most of there time on them, is available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, 365 days a year for tech support.

Apart from the managing of servers where you manage servers full time, we would like to be able to pay you only for the hours that you work, we understand you will have different costs for different hours of the day, obviously non working hours (after 5pm, and before 9am) you will want your prices to raise as this is your own personal time, The same for holidays weekend and so on.

I do think this post is in the wrong forum, but I guessed most Linux admins would be posting here so this is the best place to ask!

This would not start taking place until the end of June – mid July, but we are searching for dedicated admins, and people whom are good at there jobs, as well as good with clients, as you will be dealing with them.

Please ask any questions in this thread, PM me, or even better speak to me in person on MSN messenger: visual_angel2k@hotmail.com
Though please state I will not be able to have msn messenger until around 5pm this evening.

I look forward to some replies, and talking to you on msn messenger!

Regards

Steve

Oh ever so sorry, I forgot to say, the admin will have to have a good experience with as many control panels as possible as well, inc CPanel, Ensim and Plesk, though id I am not wrong these are the only or most used control panels?

Looking forward to some replies.

Steve

Sounds absolutely perfect for me, contact me @ paul.robins@tameside.gov.uk if you want to discuss it further, I have lots of linux experience, I've almost got my CCNA, I have used CPanel and Plesk in the past and have minor Ensim experience, I program in VB, Perl, I can hack, C, C++ and PHP.

My current contract ends on June 10th so this is absolutely spot on. Infact, I would love this job

PS. The job in my signature is both voluntary and unpaid, so don't worry about that. You can search on these forums for my experience a little bit.
