urljet.com in violation of their OWN rules.

As a hosting company urljet.com are in violation of their own rules by allowing one of their websites to openly display a stolen photograph of me in an attempt to stalk and harass me.

Their OWN rules prohibit this, but despite repeated abuse reports, they do not seem competent enough to police their OWN rules and actually enforce them.

Why is this I wonder. are they protecting someone at the expense of their own integrity?

One does wonder what they would really be like if a client of theirs had a problem, if they are unable to enforce their own terms of service.

The promotional advertising they do counts for nothing, if a Client cannot rely on them doing the right thing.

Many times, it is how an organization responds to valid complaints that show whether they are genuine.
I am sure that there are many other hosting companies that actually do the right thing, but alas it seems that urljet do not fall into that category.

Is it displayed on a clients website or one of THEIR websites?

Have you sent a proper DMCA or equivalent. If its not their site but a clients then it is a civil matter and they may choose to assist you or forward any complaint.

Your thread is unclear as to what is actually occurring and lacks information for anyone to assist you.

Hello,
Prior to starting DMCA Proceedings, you should immediately change hosts in order to prevent any future retaliation. It is HIGHLY unethical for a host to browse a clients site, yet alone steal content. Who knows if they are reading your emails or browsing your database.

Once you have left, then slap them with a DMCA Takedown to have the content removed.

What rules exactly are they violating? Where was the picture taken from?

The thread is 13 hours old and counting

until the OP comes back and adds more to the story ... there is no advice that can be given.

You say it is a photograph of you ... and it was stolen?

Thank you all for your posts they are appreciated. The photograph in question was stolen from my PC by a hacker, I HAVE NEVER POSTED IT ON THE INTERNET. I have removed two Keyloggers from my PC. Over five years ago I exposed some scammers and hackers and so they are mounting a smear campaign and impersonating me on various sites and blogs.

The Photo is used on juot.net and is displayed along with an address. I have asked the owner to remove it but he refuses. I supplied a link to urljet.

The TOS of urljet clearly states that Impersonation is against their Acceptable use policy. Yet they are allowing one of their clients to abuse their TOS and will not enforce their own rules.

The group that is impersonating me want my other personal details to further harass me, if I do a DMCA report my details will be forwarded to the hackers by DMCA, and so will put my family and myself in danger, this is unacceptable. I have explained this to the host.

The main imposter is an Indian guy, He is an IT engineer for the Kerala Public works department in India, (I have many of his IP.s that he has used to impersonate me) yet he is using my "White" photo as his own. A simple check of my IP (from Australia) and the imposters from India will easily show the truth.

I have tried to keep this short and to the point, I have a lot more information that I can share with urljet, but they stopped responding to me, so I have no other recourse than to bring things out into the open to obtain some action.

Your life will be in danger over a picture?

Its not that providers job to play judge and jury over a civil matter. Obviously if they have not taken any action then they dont feel there is anything to be actionable in regards to your complaint.

Your talking about something that happened 5 years ago and the same person(s) have been harassing you and threatening you for 5 years?

While it may be frustrating it is within someones rights to post information, but if it is legitimate harassment and you feel threatened then perhaps you should speak with a layer and the police.

It would not be very net-neutral to pick and choose who is right and who is wrong.

Like above said. Call the police or talk to dmca. If you want something done, then that's what needs to be done.

One time when I was a newbie at the web hosting industry, I saw warez content & linking hosted on one of the sites I was browsing, and I found the host and it was NameCheap. So I reported it to them. Guess what happened? They didn't take it down. Why? Because I didn't give them a DMCA Takedown Notice, and that copyrighted content did not belong to me. Lesson learned.

As the previous posters have mentioned, send the host a dmca takedown notice, and they will be legally obligated to remove the photo. If you need help, I'm sure that there is a dmca takedown notice template somewhere online you can use.
