6.7 gigabytes of data from California to Amsterdam (6,800 miles) in less than a minute? Not tooooooo shabby. Think of the pirated movie applications... ahhhhh.

Think of the non pirated movie options. Film companies able to stream there movies into homes rather than going by the rented video or route. Hmmm

FACT BOX
The data was sent via fiber-optic cables from Sunnyvale, California, to Chicago, Illinois. From Chicago, the data was relayed to Geneva, Switzerland, and from there on to Amsterdam, Netherlands. The information traveled the 6,800 miles in less than a minute.

So, basically what that means is that the infrastucture for something like this is already out there and possible?
Amazing.

Just think. If we had that in our homes, we could sit around the screen in our living room and watch almost live sporting or news events. It might hurt radio though.
