Upfront let me tell you this: I am not in the hosting business and do not operate a hosting company. Recently, we started a venture(a portal for Cricket World Cup 2003.) We had planned the infrastructure of the server as two powerful Dell PowerEdge servers clustered together. But after 1 1/2 month,we feel we overestimated the traffic expectations and therefore are willing to put up for grab ONE of the two dedicated servers(which we have colocated with ThePlanet.)

How will it work?
Whoever decides to grab this will pay us all the server cost. However, we will add them to ThePlanet contact list so you have direct authorization to deal with ThePlanet guys(we all know how nice they are, hehe.) So billing stuff, you can reach me via email, for technical things, you contact ThePlanet.

Dell PowerEdge 1.8 Ghz P4
640MB DDR ECC-Registered Memory
THREE Hard Drives:
* 30.0GB EIDE 8.0MS 7200RPM UATA-133 HDD #6E030L0
* Maxtor DiamondMax 9 - 80GB 7200RPM Ultra ATA/133 8MB
* 40 GB Western Digital

For the OS, we can install RedHat, Debian etc.

Bandwidth
100GB(each additional 100GB block for $50/month)

Price: $225/month (negotiatable, please send your offers and maybe we can work out something)

$50 Setup(waived if 3 months prepaid)

Quantity: One

And lastly: after 1 year of hosting, the server will be YOURS(you pay the shipping and we ship it to you.)

Hehe trying to make some money their zaid? 225/month for only 100 GB. You can buy a theplanet server for less than that and get higher specs with more Tranfer save the extra drives. Nice deal with the keeping of the server though.

With all due respect, please refrain from leaving your little comments unless you are really sure about the info. you post. No where does Theplanet offer a server even close to what we are offering. I said at the start, we are not competiting with theplanet, simply trying to put the server to some work(and obviously get our cut of the buck.) Might not mean much to you, but I am sure if you posted a new dedicated server and I started posting deals right in that thread or for that matter told people interested in server you are selling about places they *supposedly* can get it cheaper, you sure won't enjoy it

Anyways, if you find it cheaper with ThePlanet, PLEASE go with them! I love them and that is why I did not mind sharing my great experience(infact I doubt there is DC better than theirs.) But dont spoil this thread.

Zaid I was just messing with you because I know you. And actually I went to the planet and its like 145 and you get p4 2.0 ghz and 500 GB of Transfer if im not mistaken.

Hm, I don't get your point nor get what you are trying to imply. But I don't see any reasons why you should make any irrelevant posts to his advertising threads. So perhaps you can keep your posts to yourself?
