RocketVPS DNS
Hello. I recently purchased a VPS from RocketVPS and I am having a bit of trouble pointing my domain to it. I am pretty technical efficient but I haven't learned much about DNS and the last time I bought a VPS the DNS server IP addresses were in the welcome email but I see this is unmanaged so that isn't an option. How would I go about setting this up? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

If you ordered cPanel with the server you should note that in order to deploy it quicker they don't install it for you, but they also now have images with cPanel already installed to.

Was cPanel installed and configured when you purchased the VPS? If it wasn't didn't you setup the NS on the initial setup?

I had someone install cPanel for me and what is odd is that the DNS IP addresses point to my old VPS and I can't seem to change them.
Will I have to reinstall the VPS?
Also RocketVPS only gave me 1 IP address don't I need two for nameserver's?

The reason the nameservers appear to be point to your old IPs, is because this is what the VPS sees on the NS records for the domain. You need to update it to your new IP through your registrar and give some time and this will correct itself.
This data is pulled live from DNS lookups, and isn't actually set on the VPS.
You can use a single IP for both nameservers. There's actually no point in using two if the nameservers both reside on the same VPS, which in this case they do.KnownHost Managed VPS Specialists

Hi Guys. I went into the godaddy panel and setup ns1 and ns2 to point to the new IP address and it's still going to the old VPS. Have I missed something? I also checked a dns lookup site to confirm the NS were pointing to the new IP.
