How to Limit Bandwidth Usage in VMWare Workstation ?


Hello ..

How to Limit Bandwidth Usage in VMWare Workstation ?

I would like to assign each VM a 1TB/month and i am running on a VMWare Workstation 9.0 so please could you tell me how i can do that ?

I know that i can limit internet connection but i can't see any option to limit monthly Bandwidth

VMware workstation doesn't allow such thing.

VMware workstation don't support that.
You can monitor bandwidth using ESXi with vDS(virtual distributed switch), which will cost pretty much.

Thanks for your reply , is there any bandwidth monitoring programs and when the ip reaches the limit i suspend that VM ?

I know this is an old post but this was one of the first results that came up in Google so wanted to throw out the answer here to save other folks some time.

In VMware Workstation 9 you can limit bandwidth per VM.

1. Select the virtual machine and select VM > Settings.

2. On the Hardware tab, select the virtual network adapter and click Advanced.

3. Select a bandwidth setting.

4. Click OK to save your changes.
