Meta Language Tag

My site is based on HTML5 and I am getting some suggestions on having a language tag. But my website is only in English so is the code like this?

<meta http-equiv="Content-Language" content="en-us" />

Any other more friendly SEOs methods or tips on that?

Hi,
I use this code:
Code:
<!doctype html>
<html lang="en">
<head>
...
It is simple and validated on W3C. Anyway, I have read that search engines, like Google, use their methods to detect the content language, they not rely on meta-tag.

This is correct code, I would say. Being a web designer I can say that this code is perfect.
