Seeking a good web host
Hello,
I am looking for a web host that supports PHP 5.4 and also Perl, Ruby (with the option to install Ruby on Rails 3.2 or higher) and Python (with the option to install Django 1.4 or higher).
I found Webfaction but I do not know if it is correct (have you ever used this host).
I also know Amazon EC2 and the cloud Rackspace but I think it becomes quite expensive...
Do you know any cheap hosting which supports the requirements that I mentioned.
Thanks!
P.S. My budget and webspace requirements are: 4 to 35 dollars/monthly and a minimum of 100GB of space with about 2000 visitors a day (this will increase).

100GB of Space? Most websites don't even use 1GB. I think you may have over estimated your requirements there as you will need a dedicated server for that much space but for 2000 visitors a day you could probably get by with a shared hosting account.

100GB is indeed quite a bit. Is this a existing site? If you actually need 100GB it will either be costly shared or you need to go cloud, vps, ded for economical reasons.

Have you looked at JaguarPC.com they did have a coupon for double space but i'm not sure if its still active. The Linux VPS Pro would have 100GB of space with the coupon and as its a managed VPS you could add what programs you require.

Not possible, at least not if you are looking for a hosting solution based on Raid 10 enterprise grade hard drives (which is what you want for none hobby sites).
Also, if you are looking for PHP 5.4 you will need to go with a VPS (where you can install your own version). Just about all shared enviroments I have come across are running 5.2 and 5.3, havent seen 5.4 in production yet (or at least not to my knowledge).Looking for an awesome VPS Offer? CLICK HERE

For my opinion the first thing you should consider when selecting webhost is checking connection between your geographical area and the server where your account will be set, for example just ping IP or hostname of the server, the connection timeout shouldn't exceed 50 ms,
Reviews you might have read do not always represent reality as frustrated and angry individual can say more than needed for revenge. Though that happens very rarely.
And remember: huge and well known hosting is not always better than small companies which do not appear in the "Top 10 Hosts" lists, they may be more stable and suit your needs even better.MyIdealHost.com Best quality web hosting

it looks like you need a service you can scale up and down. This should be any HA Shared Hosting service. Those are quite expensive however. I presume you do not want to deal with virtual server management and do not consider using any VM, do you?

That is a crazy amount of space! How much do you think it will increase within the next 2 years?
If it'll increase alot you will have to go with a managed dedicated server. If it'll stay the same a managed VPS should do it for you.
This will be nowhere near your budget though.
