disk quota isnt my main concern, as long as it is cheap i'll go for it.

As long as it is cheap, I am sure you can get lots of offers. But you may want to reconsider that given that fact that if your ecommerce site is down, you can't get any revenues during the downtime. So perhaps it's better to invest in something proper

I think sprintserve is right in a way. But when a price is chip it doesn’t always mean that service is bad. Price can be cheap for some companies because they are huge.

There's definitely some cost savings if they are huge. But support costs are always going to be pretty standard. And while a cheap price need not always be bad, I think from historical evidence, there has been more incidences that shows a co-relation between bad service and unreal prices. Exceptions to the rule will always exist.

I would say it is sometimes true. However if you consider Microsoft that is a huge company; their quality is excellent, and they got the best customer service. Also consider a private programming company. I assure you the small company will never give you the quality or the price that the big company can offer.

You cannot compare a company that produces a mass market off the shelf software to a programming company that produces custom programming services. They are as different as night and day.

In a way, yes. The end product is software. But the process and what's required to get there is drastically different. And because the market is just for 1 vs millions in an off the shelf product, the pricing naturally is done differently. But we digress. This topic has been discussed many times.

Taking real cost of doing business in consideration, there's been a consensus that real cost of business must be covered in order for them to exist in the economy in the long term.
