Benefits from Cloud Hosting?

What are the benefits that we can get from using Cloud Hosting?

Does it really decrease or increase online/internet traffic?

Thanx!

The main benefit of cloud hosting is high availability and it is achieved by eliminating single points of failure. I don;t see how it can be related to internet traffic increase/decrease.

High availability, more redundant. Cloud server is expected to be 100% uptime.

If im not mistaken what you are asking is if being on a cloud based provider could increase your seo rankings and visibility online therefore getting you more traffic?

If this is what your asking then no a cloud server wouldn't necessary increase your visibility. Search engines do prefer websites that have quick load times over those who do not. If you went with a provider that offer CDN services along with their cloud server then in theory faster site + preferred search rankings = more traffic.

So to conclude a cloud server solely shouldn't do anything to your traffic.

Hope this helps!

In theory, cloud hosting CAN help with SEO and traffic, with its high availability and on demand scalability. If your site is down less, and always fast, then you're going to be ranked higher. Additionally, as long as you keep up with your scaling arrangements, your site will be fast, so users won't have to wait long to get to your site, and thus impatient users are more likely to remain engaged.

Thanks to all your replies.

Seems that I asked a wrong question,hehehehe!

Yes, I am a SEO trainee here in the Philippines and your replies helped me a lot to be familiar of what cloud hosting really is.

Thank you so much!

By hosting on the cloud visitors are mysteriously drawn to your website due to the aura of "coolness" you will emit. Across the world people will suddenly want to visit your website, and visit it they will even though they don't know the URL. That is the power of cloud hosting.

2 - isnt really accurate - unless you buy cloud services in lots of global locations and replicate the data yourself

3 - cloud 'can' be the same or comparable in cost to alternatives - it's not about saving money, it should be about doing it better - if you can save money too, thats a bonus

Cloud Hosting offers you maximum uptime by preventing any failures from arising. It does not affect your traffic in way as such.

However, when your website is online all the time you would get more visitors and since it does not face downtime you would not lose any visitors either.

So in way it would help you keep you traffic coming but does not increase it directly!

The only thing cloud hosting offers you is the best uptime you can possibly get. Regarding on the traffic, it really depends on how you look at it. If you don't have downtime google will like you more, your clients will be more satisfied etc. But in terms of increasing your traffic, I don't think that matters.

I think this brings up a good point. For your average Wordpress site is the extra cost for cloud hosting worth it? On a good host I can pay $6-7 a month and generally have 99% uptime, is cloud hosting not for that person? Is it designed more for the big websites of the internet?

It is new, that is why it cost more.
When you will see small companies using it, we will see a dramatic price drop (every cloud hoster's nightmare)
I do not believe it is more efficient than good old hosting, maybe it has 1% more in uptime.... Hosting your data on more than 1 server it is not for me, especially if that data is important.
