What is the best billing software you have used for hosting, co-lo, dedicated, etc?

WHMCS?
Ubersmith?

It really comes down to how much you are willing to spend and which specific market you're focussing on.

Hostbill isn't too bad for servers. No ipmi access for customers I don't think though. A module would have to be used. Support for apcs remote reboot support would be nice.

WHMCS isn't bad for selling dedicated servers but could use more work. May need to use external plugins.

Then there is ubersmith. Great for servers and bandwidth reporting, not so great for shared hosting.

There really isn't one that is useful for everything. Anyone you choose, for full usage you are going to be buying plugins or developing your own. Heck I don't think any of them handle rdns but I'm not positive. I know ubersmith didn't.
For colo, I personally would just send invoices and monitor power and bandwidth usage separately and check it monthly before the billing date. If there are too many customers to manage after a certain point, then I'd have my own system developed and integrated into the available billing software.

I would highly recommend Ubersmith. If you have your own infrastructure (switch, etc) and provide/host the servers - this is the perfect solution.

WHMCS is great if you do some customization and make you own modules for colo and reboots, the forum is okay, and provides some tips and tricks, never had a problem with the software, can get pricy if you want to buy it outright

For dedicated servers and colocation, ubersmith hands down. it costs quite a lot though.
