Hey All,
I figure that since I am so immersed in the Android Eco-System, I could spend a few minutes every couple of days reviewing an Android Application on WebHostingTalk. I will not be loyal to a specific genre of application, some will be business related and some will be fun/leisurely. I will try to publish one of these every few days. Episode 1 : Google Currents

Every day I consume a massive amount of information off of no less then 30 websites. Like any well organised geek, I often rely on RSS Feeds to provide me a digest on the topics I enjoy reading . RSS Feeds have served me well over the years however there is one serious flaw, I need to fire up a browser to get the rest of the story.

Google Currents solves this by creating an offline magazine style interface that allows you to view the story in a single, well laid out interface. Google Currents can be set to sync over a WiFi connection or a wireless data connection at an interval of every 1 hour, every 3 hours, every 6 hours or 12. You can also manually sync it with a single tap.

Google currents is pre-loaded with the ability to fetch hundreds of feeds from popular sites, you simply need to subscribe to the sites you want to see. In my case its all Tech and Business Related. You can also add your own RSS Feeds which is one of the ways that I keep up to date with the latest barking on WHT or TheWHIR. If you are a Google Reader user, the software can automatically import your existing feeds as well.

The interface if the application is very fluid and responsive. It looks and feels like it belongs on Android and should come pre-installed. The interface is optimised for both Mobile Phones and Tablets. I have tested it on a 3inch phone, 4.7 inch phone, 5.2 inch tablet, 7 inch tablet and a 10.1 inch tablet, and the interface was equally as stunning.
