Is this $399 1U box any good?

Awhile back, I posted a message asking if anyone knows where I can get a low-cost 1U box. I did not get any responses. Yesterday I did a search on Google and found a place call colomachine.com selling 1U Celeron 1.3Ghz box for $399.00

www.colomachine.com

Does anyone know this company or bought machines from them before?

Hm. Definitely seems like a good price, especially in a 1U. If better prices are available.. I've completely missed them.

The MSI motherboards are typically fairly stable, and they are using name brand HDDs (though there's no mention of 7200 vs 5400 RPM). I think it's fair of them to say 'whatever is available' if they are restricting it to quality brands. (I'm sure we could argue WD vs. Maxtor from a quality standpoint all day long, but I won't).

Now my credit card is getting itchy... I hope someone has heard of this site before.

How is it possible for Colomachine to offer the 1U server at $399. The rack chassis itself is selling for $295.00 at Rackmount.com. I assume that Colomachine is using the same rack chassis as listed on rackmount.com’s website.

www.rackmount.com

I do own a dozen of 1U servers made by rackmount.com (not Colomachine) that looked very similar to colomachine’s $399 1U server. The units I bought from rackmount.com are very good in both quality and reliability. Darn, I spent almost $1200 for each of the servers. The $399 price tag is not much; I will give Colomachine a try to see if they are any good.

Thats a damn good price on a 1u rackmount server. As for a p3 in the same ballpark, post the vendor.

It really cheap but remember if you get their servers you have to get some memory to put in them

Unless they are misleading us:

CM50-1.3G-40GBI-512MB
CM50 1U Server - 1.3GHz CPU, 40GB HD, 512MB RAM, Color Beige.
Ship within 4-5 business days
$399
I would assume it comes with the proc, hd, mem, ps, case, flop, and cdrom.

I wouldn't assume anything, because most files on their server aren't available anymore, and they were 5 minutes ago.

Images are back up now, along with the pages. Is Colomachine just the lower end of RackMount.com? The copyrights are the same, and the BBB link is too.

Edit: Yes they are - "ColoMachine (A division of PCW Microsystems, Inc)"
