Hi all,

I was searching for a cheap VPS to be used in educational purpose. By chance someone offered me a KVM 2084 RAM from his server set on France but asking for a donation to keep this server alive.

He said that his company is non-profit also and that he will be happy with any donation, no matter how much it is (but i'm sure he won't).

I'm asking for your suggestions !!!

$20 Really are you talking about a monthly donation or a one time donation? Do you need to rely on this vps or are you just playing with it and learning linux etc.? If it is something you will need to rely on I would look at the vps offers section and get a paid for solution.

Being that a 2 gB KVM VPS can go for $25-$50.00 per month, I would start at $50

One year, I would say $50 but to be honest I would be weary if you get 1 years service from a donator. They are often the most unreliable and can be up one day and down for good the next. If what you are running is important, I would find a VPS with an actual service provider. If not, make frequent backups.

It isn't a donation then, you're just paying for a VPS

Make sure you realize that once you stop forking up cash that the VM will just go away so keep backups.

Well as you told it is for your education purpose, then you can do any amount you are comfortable with.

But if you really are doing donation, then why don't get your self a paid VPS ? and get your self a piece of mind.

IMHO... better find yourself a good VPS provider
for good KVM i will suggest BuyVM (if they had stock)
