Everybody wants it, but very few are willing to pay for it. This is my view.

You can stop a 1gbps udp flood for free! Just pick a data center that offers a mitigation device such as Cisco Guard or Arbor TMS where an ip is routed through the device in a time of need.

Can Cisco Guard or Arbor TMS stop a big or small ddos attack? Are they more good than ddos protection provided by hosts?

I think every host has some kind of ddos protection configured, difference is just their abilities.

Users don't know what they need or want.
That's why underhanded "unlimited" hosts and even spammer hosts find clients.

This is basically false. Very few hosts have implemented any type of DDoS protection whatsoever.

In terms of Cisco Guard vs. Arbor etc, my experience has been that Arbor systems are far more effective, but any system is only as effective as the network it sits on and the team operating it.

Well some data centers offer cisco guard on request, like softlayer.

And if you receive attack and you're not aware ? then it may let your server down.

And I think there is no solution for reseller or shared hosting clients to find a solution for ddos, because they are always willing to pay less, and ddos protection cost thousands..

Many people have been made to understand ddos is a form of hosting, but in simple terms, it is keeping a hosting server secured.

Some users may not particularly care about the protection for their own site, but don't realise that having it on the network will actually benefit their site in case of a neighbour being attacked. Many of the larger companies have _something_ in place to do a little of the work, but you'll need to go somewhere fairly specialist to get real DDoS protection. The price will definitely reflect this!
