With my current host I log in to my ftp by typeing in the address ftp.mydomain.com then my user and pass. Some hosting companies use their own ftp addresses for the particular server the website is on. I like having it ftp.mydomain.com..........so Id like to just have a list of reliable hosts that offer this. (reliable = good service, well known, not new, fair price)
Thanks

I'm fairly certain those who provide an IP or an alternative domain initially, only do so in order to let you upload prior to the domain name resolving to their servers. You should be able to change it once that happens.

No, once the DNS has resolved he should be able to use his domain.
(just felt like making sure we *really* got the message across )

addvalue, I think that was already settled 3 times Seems people still tend to read only the first post and not check that there was a solution already

figured out why I am hearing 2 different things. Some hosts have 2 systems they use. One of which being something like ftp01.hostingcompany.com, the other being ftp.yourdomain.com. Thanks for the replies on this post.
