Understand - you'll find that a few hosts/countries in Europe take the attitude that if you want to take a site down, you need to follow local law rather than just throw a random DMCA at them.
The scandanavian countries (Sweden, Iceland are the easiest to find hosting in, but Finland, Norway also) as well as NL tend to work this way - probably due to their fairly fierce independence streak I would say. But do note that it all depends on the attitude of the host, not just the country. Some hosts will still cut you off upon receipt of a few DMCA letters from lawyers.
I suspect you have already done it, but if not do some searches around DMCA in the forums.
By the way, you do know the founders of PirateBay have been convicted in Swedish courts for copyright infringement?
