What type of site did you first host / own?
I am just bored and wanting to see what people usually started as their first website.
I started with a gaming site where players would play against each other and fight for number one on a global leader board. It was something like a tournament script for gamers.

Started a web-based RPG game when I was 15. Grew to around 400 members before I got bored of it and shut down.

The first serious web-project was a free image hosting service, and i was really lucky to start it in late 2007, when there weren't a jungle of image hosting like now.

I started a forum after the one i was on shut down. Forums reached over 50.000 posts. I sold it and it closed down 6months later by the new owner.
