Knownhost vs. FutureHosting vs WiredTree vs Servint
I've narrowed down to 4 hosts for us.
This is for a small magento store with about 100 products that's based out of Southern California. I've gone to their websites and Servint seems to be slightly more than the other companies. What are the plus and minuses of these companies? I'm not really sure about the business model of these companies whether they're very established and how long they're going to be around. Any advice would be appreciated.
Edit, Servint is out for other reasons.

Knownhost are very good. Their management is second to none. They always listen to the clients and do their best to accommodate their needs. They have a good reputation here and I do not remember seeing any complaints.
Wiredtree also has a good reputation, but they have had some issues with downtime and some complaints recently. However those issues seem to have been resolved.
I have no experience with the other 2 (used servint briefly but not enough to formulate an opinion on them), but both knownhost and wiredtree are pretty much a safe bet. They both are well established and I bet they will be here for a long time. With knownhost, I know from experience that their quality has never gone down. I used them a few years back and am using them again now and if anything, their service level has increased!

Of those you list, I've only used KnownHost. Excellent provider with great support. I would recommend them without hesitation to anyone.

It seems that WiredTree has their datacenter in Chicago while Knownhost has L.A., Texas and New Jersey. I don't know how this effects us though let's see.

I've read good reviews about Knownhost & Futurehosting, either way between the 4 I don't think you can go wrong.

I've used KH, FH, and Servint. All excellent.....but I found that overall KH and FH were a better fit for me personally than Servint.
Of those two....I can't split them. Two years ago, KH had a definite edge.....but FH have really raised their game over this period to the point where they're now virtually mirror images of each other.
Really it boils down to flip a coin....heads you win, tails you win.

I completely agree. I have been with them for over a year. 100% uptime.

I need to decide within the next hour...
It's between knowhost and wiretree at the moment. Knowhost's prices seem a bit more attractive.
I'm kind of worried in all honesty that these are kind of fly by night type of operations. No offense to the owners, I know they participate in the forums.

I was going to try KH but their terms specify a 30 day cancellation period with a letter written beforehand? What's that about?

Well, I never had those issues canceling a service from them... Wrote a ticket to support and my service was canceled right before the next billing date. So not sure if that changed, but shoot them an email and ask your questions. Their sales support should be online.

Where did you read that or who told you that? We are very easy to work with so please let me make it clear what you said is far from correct. We ask for cancellation notices to be submitted 7 days before the renewal date. That's it. We keep it simple for our customers as most would defend on our behalf. All you need to do is email us. We'd never ask for 30 days notice or something like that. Hope this clears this up. Let us know if you have any questions.

It's in your terms right before order completion.

Neither WT or KH are "fly by night". The opposite, rather.
