Need Some High End Servers For File Host. Who to use?
I am currently running a site that is using xfs pro.
I have outgrown my current needs and before I move ahead with my current server company I thought I would get some quotes from some of your suggestions.
1) I need at least 48tb hard drives with the option to add more later on.
2) I would prefer to have 1 web server and numerous file servers.
3) I would need at least 2gbps dedicated up/down.
4) Un-metered bandwidth.
Who do you suggest?

Are your users placed around the world or centralized somewhere ?
you say 2gbps dedicated bw, thats around 700tb a month.. - did you consider buying 7x100tb servers (or more?) and a few small webservers for frontend? That might be a lot cheaper than 2gbps unmetered/dedicated bw..

Do you have a location in mind? For Europe, I would recommend i3D or LeaseWeb and for US, Swiftway.

Dont think youll be able to get 2Gbps for $500. Cheapest is probably $1/mbit, and that's at someone such as he.net

Its possible it just wont be dedicated bandwidth Which prob. wouldn't be a bad option for this depending on traffic patterns.
FYI Cogent has offerings of .65 with 1 gbps commit.

I think budget will be the deciding factor here. It's certainly doable.

I have a 10Gbps @ $0.60/Mbps on a 5 year term with HE. I can't really imagine anyone would sell 2Gbps unmetered for $500 ?

RDS does, some large eastern european ISPs also (since they have 90% incoming traffic and need to get rid off the outgoing traffic - so why not make some profit...? )
