Searching for Windows 2008 VPS with substantial uptime

The title describes most of what I am searching for. I have just discovered you guys today and I am very happy to join the community. That being said, I am looking for a very, very dedicated hosting service to provide hosting for my small game. I have recently been a customer of VPSLand and their uptime was horrible but customer support was amazing, it's just not what I need. I'm looking at traffic being no more then 200 customers daily. The game is run using java, and uses virtually no memory.

In retrospect i'm searching for a hosting service that provides 99-100% uptime, nothing less. Customer support must be at least half decent but I am more concerned about uptime. Uptime is truly the only thing that I am concerned about and I am sure everyone viewing this thread has the same ideals. I am looking for a host with a good track history, that being said, they must have a history. A company atleast two years old.

    Specifics
    20GB hard drive
    2GB Ram
    1GB Bandwidth
DDOS protection is not necessary but happily accepted
    1 Processor
    1 IP
    Windows 2008 32/64 bit truly doesn't matter
    Under 75.00/Monthly

Thanks for the feedback in advance, I truly appreciate it.

If you are worried about up time you should look dedicated. With a VPS you have all the same risks of being on a shared hosting account but with a bit more resources.

That budget can definitely get a dedi, but you'll lose a little bit of the redundancy. As for VPS, you should be able to easily grab what you need.

Also did you mean 1GB or 1TB of bandwidth? I'm guessing TB right?

EDIT: I recommend 08 R2, and R2 is 64-bit only, so you're good there as well.

So I should look for a Dedicated VPS or a Dedicated Server? What the difference between the two if there is? Can you suggest a company that suits my needs listed above?

Unfortunately on of the only VPS providers I've personally worked with was KnownHost with a cPanel VPS.

win2k8 without R2 is based on Vista and R2 is on Windows 7. R2 is only in 64bit edition. I recommend to use R2 as it is much secure and has better performance.

Thank you for the information but again I haven't been directed to what I truly desire, a good host. Any recommendations?

I had good experience in VPS hosting with turnkeyinternet or Ultimahost.

For your requirements, you should be able to find deals from two of them

Thank you for the suggestion, but what exactly do you mean by "Good experience"? Do they both provide 100% uptime?

In terms of pricing, support and network. For uptime, they all state 99.9%. I had VPS with turnkeyinternet now and never experience a unexpected downtime yet (there was a notice to network /datacenter upgrade early this month) besides that, everything is perfect.

If you want excellent uptime, and are not trying to skimp on costs, then look at EuroVPS.
I've been with them for 6 years, and uptime is near 100%.

I've used AYK Solutions for servers in the past and they were great. They offer Windows 2008 VPS.

honestly, you should be looking at a real virtualized instance with its own full OS install. A dedicated server is not useful these days with these sorts of minimal requirements. Plus with a virtualized server, you would typically be on much better hardware - faster CPU, RAID10 drives, redundant components, etc.. just get a VM using real virtualization technology like xen, vmware, kvm, etc.. and avoid things like virtuozzo or openvz (which is more like shared hosting). there is zero reason in this day and age to get a dedicated server for a requirement of 2GB RAM. its an inefficient use of resources, bad for the environment and you can never get the same overall value

    hope this helps...

Thank you everyone for these but I have chosen Godaddy, Thanks a ton!

The budget is good. I suggest you go with a host that offers live host migration of virtual instances.

He should be allright if his VPS is on a server with good uptime.
Generally i don't see a Windows VPS could go down too often unless the host is very bad.
Resource on Windows VPS cannot be oversold at crazy level like Linux.
VPS could go down only when there is hardware problem or network problem which do not occur very often.
Bad neighbors may cause trouble as well.
