Searching for Windows 2008 VPS with substantial uptime
The title describes most of what I am searching for. I have just discovered you guys today and I am very happy to join the community. That being said, I am looking for a very, very dedicated hosting service to provide hosting for my small game. I have recently been a customer of VPSLand and their uptime was horrible but customer support was amazing, it's just not what I need. I'm looking at traffic being no more then 200 customers daily. The game is run using java, and uses virtually no memory.
In retrospect i'm searching for a hosting service that provides 99-100% uptime, nothing less. Customer support must be at least half decent but I am more concerned about uptime. Uptime is truly the only thing that I am concerned about and I am sure everyone viewing this thread has the same ideals. I am looking for a host with a good track history, that being said, they must have a history. A company atleast two years old.
20GB hard drive
DDOS protection is not necessary but happily accepted
Windows 2008 32/64 bit truly doesn't matter
Thanks for the feedback in advance, I truly appreciate it.
Thank you for the suggestion, but what exactly do you mean by "Good experience"? Do they both provide 100% uptime?
In terms of pricing, support and network. For uptime, they all state 99.9%. I had VPS with turnkeyinternet now and never experience a unexpected downtime yet (there was a notice to network /datacenter upgrade early this month) besides that, everything is perfect.
I've used AYK Solutions for servers in the past and they were great. They offer Windows 2008 VPS.
Thank you for the recommendation and kind words!

So I should look for a Dedicated VPS or a Dedicated Server? What the difference between the two if there is? Can you suggest a company that suits my needs listed above?
honestly, you should be looking at a real virtualized instance with its own full OS install. A dedicated server is not useful these days with these sorts of minimal requirements. Plus with a virtualized server, you would typically be on much better hardware - faster CPU, RAID10 drives, redundant components, etc.. just get a VM using real virtualization technology like xen, vmware, kvm, etc.. and avoid things like virtuozzo or openvz (which is more like shared hosting). there is zero reason in this day and age to get a dedicated server for a requirement of 2GB RAM. its an inefficient use of resources, bad for the environment and you can never get the same overall value
He should be allright if his VPS is on a server with good uptime.
Generally i don't see a Windows VPS could go down too often unless the host is very bad.
Resource on Windows VPS cannot be oversold at crazy level like Linux.
VPS could go down only when there is hardware problem or network problem which do not occur very often.
Bad neighbors may cause trouble as well.
