Really pay attention to trial service
Last month, I got a trial machine form Zunicore. After some tests, I didn't decide to use them. Today, I got a new invoice and it charged me $125.02. I opened a ticket and they said I didn't cancelled the trial machine so it is automatically renewed. I am so surprised that I didn't receive any advanced notification to remind me that the trial period is going to expire(I got notifications from other providers). I am not going to blame them or what. I knew I am responsible for this since I forgot to cancel it. However, I hope that the company can send a email to remind users. Perhaps they think $125.05 is just a little.

Why can't you cancel and ask for a refund? Virtual goods are still goods, and so they are still refundable. (Whether you signed an agreement not to do so in the first place; and whether such agreement is acceptable, is a whole different story.)

This.
Most reputable providers will help you out in these situations.

The larger point still remains. When you sign up for a trial, it really is important that you mark the calendar date to revisit the product/service and make sure you've cancelled if need be to avoid situations like this.
While yes, most companies will certainly cancel the account and the invoice...they most certainly are not obligated to.
When I sign up for a trial, I always make sure I mark the date a couple days before the trial is supposed to end on my calendar. Then when that date comes around, I'm instantly reminded to cancel it if I've already decided I don't want to continue and/or have forgotten about it.

That's a good perspective and I really respect that. It never hurts to ask if they're willing to just refund the payment though and you can go your separate ways.

I think this really depends on the country. I know a few that have laws making sure that companies must honour (almost) all refunds.

Its the way most of the hosting and domain registrar providers work thrit business... They dont do it purposefully... Its the billing system that automatically generates the invoice and sometimes the account too gets automatically renewed through the billing system if they store our CC - credit card details... So the best option is to cancel the account, ask for a refund.. In future make sure that you follow the billing dates / cycles clearly so that if there is any service which is not required anymore could be cancelled before the next month / year billing period itself...

you just simply, request a refund on a billing Ticket, if they are NOT willing to refund you, then this host this not even worth to go for or to be trusted
a host should be sending out invoice notices, unless they had issues with WHMCS

Yep, free trials and billing cycles are pretty much subject cron jobs which activate each month and knowing the agreement and terms prior to filling in the payment details. Although most providers will work with you based on the terms and conditions of the trial and what you are initially billed for and when the first payment is applied. Bad reviews certainly are not considered to be good and some times, even though fees can come of it which the provider eats, it's just better to refund and says thanks than it is to stick to policy.
With that said, errors on the clients part/end and fees and dues associated with these errors I would assume makes up 30% +/- of how the corporate and business world generates a profit. Overdraft and late payment fees accrued by making said payment one day or even hour late do not exist solely to teach the user or borrower a lesson. Although that is the persona, but even on the back end of this, helping a client out with said fee only helps build the relationship.
You mentioned "ticket"? Was said ticket opened with billing, or better yet, customer support?
