My point of view from several hosts
I have been in the hosting industry since 2005 and I have been with a lot of providers and wanted to show my experience/thoughts on these providers.
BursNet :
I had a few servers with bursnet and while their technical support replies are decent the horror stories about their billing and customer service are true and even more true the 1 week provisioning times however this was a few years ago so this might have changed.
Hivelocity :
Back in 2006 Hivelocity had a lot of ongoing network issues due to a poor setup however they resolved this when they "redid" their network from what I hear however they always did keep true to their word and offer a high level of support both jay and steve.
Limestone Networks :
I worked with mike from sales sometimes and had a few servers at limestone and their support and network uptime is awesome however they have a weakness and that weakness is that they do not offer a mitigation system in times of need.
Hostgator :
No complaints here, hostgator has had by far the best uptime from any shared hosting company that I have seen with the fastest server load times compared to many other shared hosts and their support is highly incredible.
100TB (10TB back when I hosted) :
10TB (uk2 group) is a company that offers a high level support and they resell softlayer servers with a special bandwidth deal however since the network is backed by softlayer tms/guard are mitigation systems that can be applied and with 100tb of bandwidth the deal is incredible. 100tb also offers and amazing level of customer service and they are always happy to help.
TurnKey Internet :
Well I decided to give these guys a try when they had their thanksgiving vps special and I must say their support was not that great and they need to work on their I/O on their vps nodes. I took a video of it taking me 1 minute to run ls in ./root with 5 files. I only lasted 1 month here for everyone's information.
Joes data center (Current Provider) :
These people are good/caring and always are there to help. I sometimes experience high ping times however overall their support/network uptime are very good.
Whole Sale Internet :
I had a server here before however I do not remember much as it was long ago and short however I never had a problem with these guys.
FDC :
Do not host your server in the denver datacenter. I have not had a chance to venture into their other datacenters but packet loss was an every day thing with the common excuse that "Our network was hit with a large ddos attack" If it was a common issue I would hope someone would what to look into how they can improve upon it.
Dedi Direct (Vee Tran) :
Vee is an awesome guy and provided me with a dual quad core server for $70 (limited time offer) and the hardware was great and I never had any downtime. Vee and his associates are on aim 24/7 and offer wonderful support and I give my thumbs up to him.
These are the only providers I can remember off the top of my head as there have been some more however if I remember I will add my comments.

The review is very specific and it was interesting for me to read it! The link in your signature points to nonexistent Twitter account.

I was looking at limestone servers last night, as I'm thinking of doing VPS hosting somewhere down the line, so thank you for your feedback with that company. Their prices are just amazing though, I have to admit.
Mitigation support is very important, and finding a host that really takes DDoS attacks serious is hard to find. I wouldn't want to have clients, get attacked, and have my server suspended. I'd like a host to work with me to resolve the issue accordingly.
If you have a good dedi company in mind, I'd love to hear from you. =)
Great reviews nonetheless, boss. =)█| Velxo Hosting | Quality Hosting Solution - Lightening Fast & Secure Servers

To be spot on and honest limestone would not make a good provider for a vps node because if a customer receives a large syn flood the packets will overwhelm the container and it will affect other nodes assuming openvz and even more so udp floods the saturation will ruin it for your other customers. Mitigation is very important and for a vps node the softlayer network offers TMS and cisco guard. TMS offers tcp authentication which does a handshake with syn packets before allowing them to pass and guard is a boss at handling udp saturation attacks so if you choose 100tb.com you don't have to worry about bandwidth and you can grab guard or tms from softlayer if you need it as that is where their servers are located.

We actually moved into our brand new data center in late 2010-early 2011. Our new facility has allowed us to take our desire to provide exceptional service on an exception network and make it a reality. We continue to work hard every day to find new ways to improve upon the Hivelocity experience and hope you will give us another shot and see what it is all about these days.
