Getting Android Phone Today!

Been a BlackBerry user for about 6 years, love it. Still do. I had purchased the Motorola Atrix last year, used it for about 5 weeks and went right back to BlackBerry.

Didn't like the full touch screen and lack of physical keyboard. However, it was time to make a change.

I bought a refurbished Galaxy S2 Skyrocket that should be delivered any minute now.

I'm planning to use this just for a month because my phone has some physical damage and needed to be replaced.

The phone that I REALLY want to get is the HTC One X. Can't wait for this thing to release.

I think you'll like the Galaxy S2.

Yeah, it's currently on CNET's top five android phones list (if that's worth anything to anybody).

However, I'm really waiting for the HTC One X. This is just a stop gap.

*phone delivered about 2 minutes ago*

Well, looks like I know what I'm doing all day today.

Hold out for the HTC One X. It's only a few weeks away for AT&T. They're saying June for the Sprint version.

True...

Personally I am more of a fan of HTC then Samsung.

<Warning GEEK MODE ON>
HTC uses the Android Industry Standard "fastboot" to interface with the bootloader while the Samsung (Non Nexus) Devices rely on a proprietary implementation called Loke. Up until last week, you must use Windows to root/install custom firmware.

</end GEEK MODE>

deGeek(KMyers) {

HTC = Industry Standard
Samsung = Proprietary

Proprietary = Bad
Industry Standard = Good

Speaking of which, the Dual Core S4 proc in the US HTC One X seems to hold it's own in a mobile phone setting against Tegra 3.

Both Samsung and HTC are both great device creators to run Android on, personally either as long as it's Android

We just got the update for our companies HTC Sensations Android 4 and it is brilliant!

Yes, I saw.

I still do like the Tegras for tablets though

Honestly I like when manufacturers open up to developers. This is why HTC climbed to the top of the companies I respect (and why Apple dug its grave)

Well, Samsung did hire Steve Kondik, Cyanogen. Plus, if you really want a mod friendly phone, you can't go wrong with the Gnex.

The GSII might be outdated, but it's still a beast of a phone.

lol, it only came out like 6 months ago. That's what I'm hating about today's phone world. When I get the One X, I'll feel like hot **** for about 3 weeks until the next biggest thing ever is announced/released.
